Now More Than Ever
We are in the middle of a series called “How Are You Feeling?” God gave us feelings and emotions for a reason, but we often separate our feelings and faith.
QUESTION:
How much of your anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, or surprise had anything to do with the kingdom of God last week?
I ask this because we feel these emotions daily if not hour by hour or minute by minute. Who or what satisfies these positive emotions for you or stirs up these negative ones?
You have maybe heard this before. There is a war for your heart. I want to encourage you this week to take time for your heart. Guard your heart. Seek God in everything you do this week. Seek God in everything you say. Have faith in knowing that no matter what emotion you may be feeling this week, God loves you, He is for you, and it is God’s grace that will rescue and transform you.
PRAYER:
God we pray for an unwavering faith. Now more than ever. Faith that is firm. Faith that is secure. Faith that helps us understand our feelings about our current circumstances and our world. Give us your peace in the coming days, weeks, and months. Amen.
SCRIPTURE:
Philippians 4:4-7
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
